Since a child, Karen Ziskin has been drawn to infants.  The love, caring, and nurturing of infants has since been her passion in life.  Over a decade ago, Karen was introduced to the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) philosophy.  She quickly realized what an incredibly wonderful resource the RIE philosophy was for parents and their babies.  Since then, Karen has studied and trained with RIE founder Magda Gerber in Silverlake, California. For five years, she taught at the RIE Demonstration Childcare Center, the South Bay Infant Center in Redondo Beach, California. Karen was a member of the Board of Directors for six years and has been teaching RIE Parent - Infant Guidance Classes in Manhattan Beach since 1999. She was the principal photographer for Magda Gerber's book Dear Parent. Karen has spoken at conferences on early education and does private consultations as well. She is also a certified postpartum doula and is an affiliate member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Karen lives in Manhattan Beach with her husband of over 30 years. They have three grown children, Matt, Jamie, and Kris.
