A RESPECTFUL APPROACH TO RAISING CHILDREN WHO ARE AUTHENTIC, SECURE, CHEERFUL AND CONFIDENT
Karen Ziskin, a RIE Associate, offers RIE Parent - Infant Guidance Classes in the South Bay for children 2 months-2 ½ years old.
Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) teaches a unique philosophy and methodology in working with infants. Educator and infant specialist Magda Gerber and pediatric neurologist Tom Forrest M.D. founded RIE in 1979. This successful parenting approach harnesses the power of this basic fact: Your baby is unique and will grow in confidence if allowed to develop at his or her own pace. The key to successful parenting is learning to observe your child and to trust him or her to be an initiator, an explorer, a self-learner with an individual style of problem solving and mastery.
The RIE vision is "From the day they are born, all infants are cared for with respect and are seen as unique individuals with surprising capacity to participate in relationships."
The RIE Approach, as taught by Karen Ziskin, is focused on the child's cues and promotes mutual, respectful relationships. This approach has been shown to foster development of resourceful, authentic and responsible people.
